A locked page, a password only they know, and a burnt CD on the other side.
Built like a website from 2003 and locked like a diary. It opens on a padlock that takes a secret only the two of you have, then hands over a hit counter, a magazine cover, two mini games nobody can lose, a strip of photo booth frames with writing on the back, a sealed letter and one song on a tape deck. Eleven screens, one at a time.
Not sure what to write? Birthday pages that are not just a card
What’s inside
Each one is optional — switch off anything that is not your story and it disappears from the page entirely.
A secret only they would know. Give a hint that is obvious to them and useless to anyone else.
Cover lines are short and slightly absurd. That is the joke.
A gentle game. It never plays to win.
No timer and no fail state. They catch until they have enough.
The back of the photo is where the real line goes.
Short notes, scattered. Keep each one to a sentence.
Sealed until they open it, then it takes the whole screen.
Click to play. Never autoplay — a song starting unbidden is a bad first moment.
What you get
Your page starts finished. You replace our words with yours rather than facing a blank box.
Unguessable, never indexed, and printable onto a card so there is something to hand over.
Lock it, or schedule it so it only opens at the exact moment you want it to.
Fix a typo after they have opened it. Changes go live on the same link.
Music chosen for the page plays as they read. Pick another from the library, or switch it off.
One payment, no renewal. The page stays exactly where you left it.
Palettes
Or set your own colours, type and scene order — included with every page.
Reviews
The password gate at the front is a great touch. Ours was an inside joke and she got it instantly.
Catching the hearts is silly and I have played it more than he has.
Good fun. The padlock hint needs to be obvious or they will give up.
